On trips we drive home themes from John Eldredge’s “Wild at Heart” and Robert Lewis’s “Raising a Modern Day Knight”.  For maximum impact we suggest you read these or watch the video series prior to the trip. 
When dangling from a 150 foot cliff, squeezing through the deep cave recess, learning how to roll the kayak, or traversing a mountain ridge—guys are suddenly thrust into the environment of challenge that gets their attention.  It’s here, we guys learn.  We learn about life, what does it mean to be a real man?  What does that look like?  How do I treat women?  What do I fight for?  What has God designed me to DO?  Do I have what it takes? 
We as dad’s are on a critical mission—it is our duty to teach our sons, instruct them, call them out, unleash their strength, help them discover their raw, unique abilities—passions.  Lewis states, “Masculinity bestows masculinity”.  YOU have been dropped into the middle of a war zone for your son—we can not go passive, we must FIGHT!
